The
Recognition, Role and Mandate of the Advisory Committee
Recognition
- Recognize
the values and visions of the Municipality as defined in the
Strategic Plan.
- Recognize
that a walkable community concept cannot be solely supported through
taxation.
- Recognize
that the residents of Red Lake require walkable communities that
play a role in our well-being and in our education, heritage,
culture, environment and transportation.
- Recognize
that a walkable community incorporates multi-use value and concepts.
Role
- Be
concerned with a program that encourages and enlightens users.
- Be
concerned with the design, concept, construction, use and after care
of the program.
- Be
concerned with the various user and community groups who may wish to
approach this committee.
- Be
concerned with the function of partnership arrangements that ensures
success of the program.
- Be
concerned that any policies developed and recommendations are
consistent and applicable to all municipal by-laws and provincial
legislation.
Mandate
- The
Committee should endeavor to identify local needs, develop local
solutions and make recommendations to Council that encourages the
concepts of walkable communities.
